The goal of this workshop is to address technical challenges and research issues in providing broadband wireless services and applications.
Recent advances in wireless and mobile communications have set the scene for introducing new services. The demand for broadband wireless services and applications is huge and growing rapidly. People are increasingly relying on mobile systems and devices for information, communications, and entertainment. We are moving into an era of pervasive computing (computing at any place and at any time) and ubiquitous communications (communication at any place and at any time), which provides ample opportunities for emerging wireless services and applications. This workshop solicits the state-of-the-art approaches and technical solutions in the area of broadband wireless services, enabling technologies such as middleware, and novel wireless applications. BroadWISE 2004 will provide a compelling forum for socialization and formal discussion of the research challenges with seasoned practitioners and colleagues from throughout the industry and academia.
